New Thailand distributor joins the Filtermist Family

Filtermist is delighted to announce the appointment of new distributor, Yamada Machine Tools, located in the Chonburi province of Thailand.

The company was first established in 2009 and specialises in manufacturing and marketing metalworking machines and cutting tools to manufacturing plants across Thailand.

Yamada was chosen as a Filtermist distributor due to its established connections with a large proportion of the Japanese companies that occupy the region; particularly within the automotive industry. The presence of Japanese brands and the influence of Japanese culture in Thailand is extensive, with the Thai Investment Board estimating that Japanese companies make up 40% of the Thai economy.

Filtermist Asia’s Business Development Manager, Desmond Teo, explains, “We are delighted to welcome Yamada to the ‘Filtermist Family’. Thailand is one of the largest markets within the ASEAN region and the appointment of Yamada provides the perfect opportunity for Filtermist to fill a gap in the market by developing links with well-established Japanese companies in the region.”

Desmond visited the newly appointed company in September to present Managing Director, Haruhisa Yamada and Sales Manager, Takayuki Uchitani with the official distributor contract.

Yamada, alongside Bangkok based distributor PVT Tooling, will be showcasing a selection of the Filtermist oil mist collector range at this year’s Metalex exhibition - ASEAN’s largest Machine Tool and Metalworking Technologies trade show taking place in Bangkok. Both distributors will also be exhibiting a selection of Filtermist accessories, including the recently released F Monitor; the new dual function monitoring system that advises operators when a unit needs servicing, as well as warning of blockages.

Metalex, being held between 19th-22nd November, is a significant trade show for Filtermist in the ASEAN region. The company has exhibited at the show on a number of previous occasions and it has always provided an invaluable insight into one of the most rapidly growing markets in the world.

James Stansfield, Filtermist Managing Director, comments, “Exhibiting at Metalex provides a great opportunity to showcase our products and speak to potential and existing customers. It is also advantageous to have both of our Thai distributors attending the show, as it demonstrates our increasing market share in Thailand whilst raising the profile of the Filtermist brand.”

Interest in Filtermist products at previous Metalex exhibitions is evidence that the ASEAN region is becoming increasingly aware of the environmental issues that affect the manufacturing industry.  Removing oil mist from the workplace reduces the risk of employees developing respiratory problems and other health risks, as well as reducing the likelihood of accidents due to slippery floors and work surfaces.

Yamada is the latest company to join Filtermist’s extensive global distributor network - the appointment marks the latest in the ASEAN region following on from the formation of successful partnerships in Vietnam, the Philippines and Indonesia earlier in the year.
