Filtermist tests language skills at Japanese International Machine Tool Fair

UK based oil mist collector manufacturer, Filtermist International, will be supporting its Japanese distributor Dynex Corporation by attending the 27th Japan International Machine Tool Fair (JIMTOF 2014) in Tokyo next month.

Business Development Manager, Chris Harper, is due to fly out to Filtermist’s new office in Shanghai, before travelling on to Tokyo where he will spend six days with Dynex Corporation, as well as meeting with UKTI Tokyo to discuss further opportunities in Japan.

Dynex will be showcasing the newest addition to Filtermist’s product range, the F Monitor, as well as the ultra-compact S Series oil mist filter and popular FX Series oil mist filter, and is confident of an enthusiastic reception following extremely successful JIMTOF shows in previous years.

Chris Harper comments, “JIMTOF is the largest machine tool show in Japan. The 2012 show attracted more than 128,000 visitors and organisers are anticipating an even greater number this year.

"The 2014 show will be the 16th time Dynex has exhibited at JIMTOF and the 11th as an official Filtermist distributor. I am looking forward to meeting a variety of existing Filtermist customers, as well as companies who may not be quite so familiar with our brand.”

Japan is a highly important market for Filtermist. According to the UKTI’s Exporting to Japan guide, manufacturing accounts for 22% of the country’s GVA; sales of Filtermist oil mist filters are testimony to this figure, having increased by more than 50% in recent years.

The country offers such potential for Filtermist that Chris is currently learning the language to help him build relationships with both Dynex and key customers in Japan. He has been undertaking 1-1 tuition at the Brasshouse Language Centre in Birmingham for the past 18 months and is looking forward to practicing his conversing skills in November.

Chris says, “I last visited Japan in February of this year, so hopefully Dynex will notice an improvement in my Japanese speaking skills this time around!”

Dynex will be located on Stand W2063 at JIMTOF 2014, taking place at the Tokyo International Exhibition Centre from 30th October – 4th November.
