Méca Diffusion, Filtermist’s long-standing French distributor, will be showcasing Filtermist oil mist collectors in Morocco for the first time next month with a stand at Midest Maroc in Casablanca. 

Morocco is a new market for Méca and one which offers significant potential due to its location as the ‘strategic gateway between Europe and North Africa’ and the country’s growing automotive industry. 

Méca will be demonstrating how Filtermist units effectively remove oil mist particles generated in a range of manufacturing applications including machining, milling, turning and grinding. It will also be showing the new S Fusion – designed specifically to handle large volumes of submicron particles created in high-pressure neat oil applications.

An article in the Financial Times earlier this year reported how automotive manufacturers including Renault and Peugeot have established hugely successful production plants in Morocco in recent years – creating a substantial number of jobs and resulting in opportunities for the wider supply chain.

The FT article states ‘One aim is to increase the proportion of locally produced components in exported cars from 40 per cent to 65 per cent by the end of the decade.’ The more Morocco’s local component manufacturing capability grows, the bigger the opportunity for companies such as Filtermist, as Director of Sales, Stuart Plimmer explains, “Filtermist exports to more than 60 countries worldwide and we have often witnessed the increased importance placed on health and safety in emerging economies. 

“As well as the need to protect workers from harmful airborne particles, manufacturers also recognise the role a clean working atmosphere can have in attracting the best employees and securing contracts with multi-national manufacturers.”

Méca is one of Filtermist’s best performing distributors – the company has achieved consistent sales for the past five years and was recently named a ‘Filtermist Partner’. Morocco has been on our radar for a while now due to its rapidly expanding automotive industry and La Francophonie status – a country where French is the primary language for commerce and economics.”

Taking place from 14th-17th December 2016, Midest Maroc ‘The Industrial Event in Morocco’, offers an ideal opportunity for Méca to introduce Filtermist oil mist collectors to Moroccan manufacturers - some of which have counterparts in other countries that are already Filtermist customers. For example, Méca currently works with the Renault Group in France, Filtermist’s Romanian distributor Draft Industries supplies the Dacia plant, whilst the company’s Spanish distributor Disheco counts Renault’s facilities in Valladolid and Seville amongst its customers.
