Filtermist returns to IMTEX for the first time in four years

Filtermist oil mist collectors will be one of the products on show on the Absolent Air Care Group stand (B140 in Hall 4) at the IMTEX exhibition in Bangalore, taking place from 19th – 25th January next year.

2023 will be the first time that Absolent Air Care Group, Filtermist’s parent company, will have exhibited at this popular show; Filtermist had its own stand at IMTEX in 2019, whilst Swedish sister company Absolent which offers a range of premium oil mist, oil smoke, dust and fume filters, has not exhibited at IMTEX before.

As India’s premier metalworking exhibition, IMTEX provides an ideal opportunity for the Group to showcase its ever-increasing capability to manufacturing and engineering companies that recognise the importance of ensuring the air in their factories is clean and safe to breathe.

Andreas Johansson, Absolent Air Care Group’s Regional President APAC, comments, “Air quality has been high on India’s agenda for a long time now and the country is taking significant steps to reduce air pollution, both externally and inside buildings. This is key given that workers spend so many hours indoors.”

Products on display on the IMTEX stand will include FX Fusion – the dedicated solution for machining applications that use neat oil at high pressure from Filtermist; F Monitor 2 – Filtermist’s Bluetooth enabled monitoring device; Absolent’s premium A.10 filter and an A.Mist 20, as well as a Kerstar KSV 45/2 swarf vacuum.

In India there is currently no official workplace exposure limit for oil mist, dust or fume, however The Factories Act, 1948 (chapter three (Health), section 14 (Dust and Fume)) states the following:

In every factory in which, by reason of the manufacturing process carried on, there is given off any dust or fume or other impurity of such a nature and to such an extent as is likely to be injurious or offensive to the workers employed therein, or any dust in substantial quantities, effective measures shall be taken to prevent its inhalation and accumulation in any workroom, and if any exhaust appliance is necessary for this purpose, it shall be applied as near as possible to the point of origin of the dust, fume or other impurity, and such point shall be enclosed so far as possible.

“We have sold Filtermist and Absolent industrial air cleaning products into India for many years, but prior to the formation of Absolent Filtermist India Private Ltd in 2018 we always sold through distributors,” continues Andreas. “India is a hugely important market for many of our brands and we have taken a number of strategic steps to increase awareness of our products and services over the past five years.

“We have a dedicated team in India which was recently strengthened with the appointment of another Sales Manager, Dinesh Tiwari, who is based in Delhi. In addition to our core product brands of Absolent and Filtermist, we also offer Kerstar industrial vacuum cleaners and Dustcheck dust control products – both of which are manufactured in the UK by Filtermist International’s skilled team.

“Working with our team means customers can access the most effective air cleaning solutions for their specific requirements, whatever they may be.”
