UK oil mist collectors manufacturer Filtermist will be showcasing its world renowned centrifugal oil mist filtration system, which was recently re-launched complete with a high efficiency afterfilter to ensure even cleaner air, at EMO 2023.
And brand new for the 2023 show, Filtermist will be introducing an additional feature for this range - the new F Monitor Essential monitoring device.
Visitors to the Absolent Air Care Group booth (F41 in Hall 6) will be able to see a working prototype of the new product which has been designed to offer all Filtermist oil mist collector users a simple way to ensure their unit is working properly – providing peace of mind that employees are protected from exposure to harmful airborne oil mist particles.
F Monitor Essential monitors the airflow of the unit using velocity pressure readings. A blinking green light indicates that the airflow is at least 80% of the rate calibrated at the time of commissioning. If the light turns amber it means airflow has dropped to between 50% and 80% of the required flow indicating that the Filtermist unit needs attention, whilst red means a reduction in airflow to below 50% of the required amount which could indicate a blockage, or the Filtermist unit needs servicing.
The monitor remembers the calibrated setting when the batteries are replaced – ideally annually, or in line with regular servicing intervals. If the operator wants to check that the Filtermist unit is working correctly, for example after maintenance work,
pressing the ‘Test’ button will activate the monitor’s sensor. The LEDs will remain on for two minutes, displaying the current airflow status.
F Monitor Essential, which attaches to the machine tool via rear mounted magnets, easily connects to the Filtermist unit with no electrical connection required. A QR code printed on the front of the monitor directs users to a dedicated web page where the user guide and an installation and set-up film can be accessed.
Filtermist CEO James Stansfield comments, “We already have an advanced bluetooth controlled monitor that measures airflow, time, temperature & vibration - our new Essential model goes back to basics and only monitors airflow, which is what most customers want to be able to easily check.
“The product has been designed with simplicity in mind – from the AA batteries which can easily be replaced, to the magnetic mounts which make it easy to position and see, and the traffic light display which can be viewed from across the machine shop. The fact that no electrician is needed to install the monitor makes it much easier for customers to use than our earlier models. No data is stored so there are no data security issues; the whole project has been approached from a ‘how can we make this as easy for the customer as possible?’ perspective. We are confident that this new monitor will be well-received by our customers around the world.”
As well as the new monitor, Filtermist will also be showing one of its brand-new horizontal inlet plenum mounting options, as well as a stainless steel ‘cut-away’ unit designed to show visitors the internal workings of the Filtermist oil mist collector.
James continues, “These additional features enable Filtermist to provide a package of oil mist solutions usually associated with much more expensive extraction systems, but at the affordable prices we are renowned for.”
Filtermist will be exhibiting alongside sister company Absolent AB which will be launching its brand new ‘A•erity’ range of premium filters at the show – find out more about A•erity by visiting Absolent’s website.
