Filtermist showcases global reach at JIMTOF

UK based oil mist collectors manufacturer Filtermist International Ltd has reported that its first time exhibiting at Japanese show JIMTOF proved so successful it is already in negotiations for space at the 2018 show.

Organised by the Japan Machine Tool Builders’ Association and Tokyo Big Sight, JIMTOF is one of the largest shows of its kind in the world and regularly welcomes over 100,000 visitors.

Filtermist has traded in Japan for more than 25 years through long-standing distributor Dynamic Tools Corporation (Dynex). The country’s manufacturing sector offers such significant market potential for Filtermist that it decided to host its own stand at JIMTOF 2016, as Business Development Manager Chris Harper explains;

“Filtermist units effectively remove oil mist generated in a wide range of manufacturing processes - whenever a machine tool is manufactured or purchased it presents an opportunity for Filtermist. Japan is the world’s second largest manufacturer of machine tools after China so we are extremely keen to increase our share of this market.”

Chris Harper hosted the stand at the six day show with Filtermist Managing Director James Stansfield and Director of Sales, Stuart Plimmer. The UK team was also joined by Filtermist staff based in Singapore and Shanghai, as well as employees from Dynex to ensure a native Japanese speaker was in attendance at all times.

“We decided to support Dynex with a dedicated Filtermist stand to help increase brand awareness and to demonstrate our commitment to customers in Japan and the wider region,” continues Chris. “Filtermist oil mist collectors are sold in more than 60 countries worldwide through a network of carefully selected distributors offering local support. This is particularly important for machine tool manufacturers who need to know that equipment can be maintained no matter what part of the world it ends up being used in.”

Visitors to Filtermist’s stand included representatives from a wide range of Japanese and international companies including existing customers Okuma, Star Micronics and Makino.

James Stansfield comments, “Filtermist’s global reach is highly valued by multi-national manufacturers who need to be confident that their customers can access technical support and maintenance services if required. We received a number of quality enquiries from machine tool manufacturers looking for equipment suppliers which offer support overseas – particularly throughout Europe.

“JIMTOF was an exceptionally busy show and we’ll definitely be exhibiting here again in two years’ time.”

Filtermist used its JIMTOF stand to showcase latest product – the S Fusion neat oil mist collector. S Fusion has been specifically developed to effectively remove the large volumes of submicron particles generated in high pressure applications that use neat oil.

Established in 1969, Filtermist’s centrifugal oil mist collectors have a worldwide reputation for their robust construction and longevity, as well as their effective performance.
