Filtermist to build on success in Japan at MECT 2017

Filtermist will be supporting Japanese distributor, Dynamic Tools Corporation (Dynex) on its stand (1D64, Hall 1) at MECT 2017 in Nagoya in October in a bid to build on the success of last year’s JIMTOF show in Tokyo.

Filtermist has exported its UK made oil mist eliminators to Japan for more than 25 years – sales have steadily increased year on year with substantial growth witnessed since JIMTOF 2016.

“Unit sales in Japan have more than doubled in the first seven months of this year, compared with the same period in 2016,” says Chris Harper, Filtermist’s International Business Development Manager.

“This can be attributed to a number of factors and we are keen to ensure the momentum continues. MECT 2015 welcomed over 90,000 visitors and we believe this year’s show is set to be equally successful.

“A number of Japan’s leading machine tool manufacturers, many of whom already work with Filtermist and its global distributors, will be exhibiting at the show. This offers opportunities for Filtermist and Dynex to meet with key decision makers face to face to discuss how we could potentially work together to ensure machine operators are protected from exposure to hazardous oil mist particles.”

The location of the show is a key factor in its success – the Chūbu region is home to some of the country’s leading automotive manufacturers including Toyota, Honda and Suzuki, as well as a significant number of aerospace companies. Both of these sectors are key target markets for Filtermist as Chris explains, “Our oil mist collectors are used in a range of industrial sectors that involve metal-cutting operations in their manufacturing processes. Oil mist which is harmful to health if breathed in, and can cause a slip and fire hazard if left to accumulate in the atmosphere, is generated in all applications where coolant or oil is used.

“All manufacturers have a responsibility to ensure people are protected from exposure to airborne oil mist particles. Supplying a machine tool which is already fitted with effective extraction is a relatively low-cost value add service which manufacturers can offer to their customers.”

Established in 1969, Filtermist offers local support in more than 60 countries worldwide through a network of carefully selected distributors. This capability is particularly beneficial to multi-national manufacturers and their customers as they can access support whenever and wherever it may be required.

Dynex will be showcasing Filtermist’s latest product, S Fusion – designed specifically to remove large volumes of submicron oil mist particles generated in high-speed, high-pressure and neat oil applications.
