New distributor appointed in Mexico

UK based oil mist collectors manufacturer Filtermist International has appointed a new distributor to help increase its share of the Mexican oil mist removal market.

Nuevo León based Hertool S.A. DE C.V. has more than 13 years’ experience in the metalworking industry, distributing products from a wide range of suppliers throughout Mexico.

Filtermist has sold its products into Mexico through US distributor Royal Products for a number of years and the country’s buoyant aerospace and automotive markets have resulted in significant additional opportunities for Filtermist, hence the appointment of another distributor.

The contract with Hertool was finalised following support from the Department for International Trade (DIT) Mexico who worked closely with Filtermist to ensure it found a suitable distributor with the capability to help increase the company’s share of the thriving Mexican market.

Filtermist’s Business Development Manager Chris Harper met with Armando Lince, Hertool’s CEO and Founder, and Luis Lince, Hertool’s Commercial Director, alongside representatives from the Automotive Investment Organisation (part of the UK’s DIT) to sign the official distributor contract in a ceremony at the British Consulate. The event was also attended by Mr. Andrew Morris, British Consul in Monterrey and Deputy Head of the Commercial Section (DIT Mexico).

Chris Harper comments, “Filtermist oil mist collectors are trusted by leading manufacturers in over 60 countries worldwide to effectively remove harmful oil mist particles, fume and steam from workshop air – protecting people from health, slip and fire hazards, and ensuring sensitive equipment is not damaged by airborne contaminants.

“Mexico’s booming manufacturing sector offers substantial potential for Filtermist and we are delighted to have appointed Hertool as a Filtermist distributor.”

Mexico is one of a number of key global markets that offers opportunities for Filtermist. The Swedish owned company has recently returned from successfully exhibiting at JIMTOF in Japan, new distributors have been appointed throughout the ASEAN region in recent years, and a dedicated Chinese Business Development Manager based in Shanghai is helping to grow Filtermist’s share of the extensive Chinese market.

Global automotive and aerospace industries are key to Filtermist’s continued expansion as Chris explains, “Filtermist and its network of global distributors already work with some of the biggest names in automotive and aerospace including BAE Systems, General Motors, JLR, Nissan and Mercedes Benz.

“We will be taking part in the Automotive Meetings in Queretaro in February (20th-22nd) with Hertool and we are looking forward to demonstrating how Filtermist units can play a part in protecting Mexican workers by ensuring the air they breathe is clean.”
